A New Look for a New Era
ARC Re-launches iESM at RISSB Conference in Melbourne
Following the acquisition of iESM (the international rail industry's handbook on Engineering Safety Management) ARC (Abbott Risk Consulting) was pleased to reveal the re-brand and re-launch at the RISSB (Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board) annual Rail Safety Conference 2022 in Melbourne.
This was the first live two day conference in as many years due to lockdowns because of the global pandemic, so it was no surprise the chosen theme was “Safety Climate and Climate Safety” with a focus on learnings from COVID, sustainability, climate change and mental health and resilience among other topics.
John Abbott, Managing Director of ARC said,
“We are going through extraordinary times. We have all had to endure hardships. It has been particularly difficult here in Melbourne, where our colleagues have had to go through so many lockdowns. Which is why it is so important to be here, to talk and share knowledge. iESM is backed by a dedicated community, and so what better time to re-launch than here today.”
Before the acquisition from TPD, ARC was a trainer for iESM for over four years and during that time has shared its knowledge with over 250 people worldwide.
ARC Director, Steve Bickley takes over the role as Chair from Paul Cheeseman who has steered the initiative since 2013.
Steve Bickley said,
“iESM is all about a group of people who care about safety, capturing good practice principles and process that will benefit the future of our industry. I feel privileged to present this back to the rail community today as a statement of intent to nurture and protect what we have achieved here. iESM is bigger than a business or individual, it is demonstration of collaboration, sustainability, and a dedication to serve and protect our future.
We have given iESM a new look and website to re-invigorate and re-engage the initiative. Since Paul developed this in 2013 the world has gone through immense change, a digital revolution and a big focus on environmental issues. We wanted to make sure that we not only took the reins, but recalibrated iESM to make it fit for the new era.”
