This training module is a combination of the iESM Overview
followed by a second day of practical application of the
iESM Principles and Processes to a progressive case study.
The case study is a level crossing which enables many
aspects of the iESM guidance to be tried out in a classroom
environment. The day includes hazard identification, safety
planning applying the three risk analysis approaches,
identifying credible safety requirements and then finally
producing the outline of a safety argument.
There is no separate examination but participants will need
to have taken and passed the iESM examination in association
with the Overview course or Conversion / Refresher course
first and then take a full and active part in the practical
exercise to be awarded the certificate for Practitioner &
Application.
